Abstract

A low risk security vulnerability in the “Web Gateway” component of IBM WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition may result in authenticated users being able to access other users’ file transfers.

When using the web gateway, an authenticated user is able to access other users’ files without further access control if the URL of the file is known. The URL for a file contains non guessable elements.

AFFECTED PLATFORMS: **
Version 7.0.4 and all previous versions of WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition running on all platforms are affected.

REMEDIATION: The recommended solution is, for users of the web gateway in the affected products, to apply the fix for each named product as soon as practical. Please see below for information on the fixes available._

For all affected versions of IBM WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition:
- Contact IBM Technical Support requesting an interim fix for APAR IC82761. Note that older releases of WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition will first need to be upgraded to 7.0.4 or later.

None known; apply fixes.
