VULNERABILITY SUMMARY

Multiple potential security vulnerabilities have been identified with Intel® Ethernet 700 Series Controllers. Intel has released software and firmware updates to mitigate these potential vulnerabilities.

RESOLUTION

HP has identified the affected platforms and target dates for SoftPaqs. There are two primary components in HP Z Desktop Workstations that are affected by the Intel Ethernet 700 Series Controllers Advisory INTEL-SA-00255:

  • Intel Ethernet Connection Network Adapter X710

  • Intel Ethernet Converged X722 ports

Resolution involves updating both the network controller firmware, and the drivers. If your system contains either of the affected devices, please install the drivers from an R24.0 Intel LAN driver package or later, and then update the firmware to version 7.00 or later.

The HP Z6 G4 and HP Z8 G4 Workstations have embedded Intel X722 ports that are affected by this advisory. The SoftPaqs for each of these updates is listed in the table of affected platforms and devices. See the affected platforms listed below.
