Vulnerability scanning
What is Vulnerability scanning
The practice of finding software flaws (also known as vulnerabilities) in computer systems. Vulnerability scans test for known security gaps in software. They check for both known and unknown vulnerabilities in applications. These scans often generate alerts if any problems are detected. Many vulnerability scanners are free and are run automatically whenever a computer connects to the Internet.
