SOL15274 - TCP reassembly vulnerability CVE-2014-3000

Recommended action

If the previous table lists a version in the Versions known to be not vulnerable column, you can eliminate this vulnerability by upgrading to the listed version. If the table does not list any version in the column, then no upgrade candidate currently exists.

If your LineRate installation is behind a firewall, you may be able to configure the firewall to protect the LineRate proxy from this particular vulnerability. Consult your firewall documentation for €œTCP out-of-order packet support€ or €œTCP reassembly€ features. If your firewall can reassemble the packet stream before passing the traffic to your internal network, this workaround will ensure the vulnerability in the LineRate proxy cannot be triggered.

Impact of action: Performing the suggested workaround should not have a negative impact on your system.
