K65397301 : iRules RESOLVER::summarize memory leak vulnerability CVE-2021-23049

Security Advisory Description

When the iRules RESOLVER::summarize** **command is used on a virtual server, undisclosed requests can cause an increase in Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) memory utilization resulting in an out-of-memory condition and a denial-of-service (DoS). (CVE-2021-23049)

Impact

System performance degradation can occur until the process is either forced to restart or manually restarted. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a degradation of service that can lead to a DoS on the BIG-IP system.
