HDF5 Stack Buffer Overflow Vulnerability (CNVD-2022-68553)

HDF5 is a suite of tools for managing and storing different types of data from HDF USA. The product supports managing, manipulating, viewing, and analyzing data and generating files in a portable format.HDF5 suffers from a stack buffer overflow vulnerability, which stems from a network system or product that does not properly validate data boundaries when performing operations on memory, resulting in incorrect read and write operations being performed to other memory locations associated with it. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause a buffer overflow or heap overflow, among other things.
