Microsoft Windows Installer is a component of the Windows operating system from Microsoft Corporation (USA). An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists in Microsoft Windows Installer, which provides a standard basis for installing and uninstalling software. The vulnerability stems from an incorrect program call to a high-level native procedure. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause an elevation of privilege.
