NETGEAR R6700 and others are a wireless router from NETGEAR, Inc. A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in versions prior to NETGEAR R6700v2 1.1.0.42, R6800 1.1.0.42, and R6900v2 1.1.0.42. The vulnerability stems from a networked system or product that does not properly validate data boundaries when performing operations on memory, resulting in an incorrect read or write operation being performed to an associated other memory location. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause a buffer overflow or heap overflow, among other things.
