Miniftpd is a simplified version of the open source vsftp server for Linux that implements some of the features of vsftp. Miniftpd suffers from a buffer overflow vulnerability, which stems from a networked system or product that does not properly validate data boundaries when performing operations on memory, resulting in incorrect read and write operations being performed to other memory locations associated with it. An attacker could use this vulnerability to cause a buffer overflow resulting in a denial of service or remote code execution.
