Description

Alex Chernyakhovsky discovered that OpenSSL incorrectly handled AES OCB mode when using the AES-NI assembly optimized implementation on 32-bit x86 platforms. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to obtain sensitive information. Update Instructions: Run sudo ua fix USN-5502-1 to fix the vulnerability. The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following package versions: libssl1.1 – 1.1.1f-1ubuntu2.16 libssl-dev – 1.1.1f-1ubuntu2.16 openssl – 1.1.1f-1ubuntu2.16 libssl-doc – 1.1.1f-1ubuntu2.16 No subscription required

Mitigation

Users of affected products are strongly encouraged to follow the mitigations below. The Cloud Foundry project recommends upgrading the following releases:

• Bionic Stemcells
  • Upgrade 1.x versions to 1.91 or greater
  • All other stemcells should be upgraded to the latest version available on bosh.io.
• cflinuxfs3
  • Upgrade all versions to 0.309.0 or greater
• CF Deployment
  • Upgrade all versions to 21.7.0 or greater and upgrade Bionic Stemcells to 1.91 or greater
