Summary

  • Cisco Security has detected significant activity related to French-language spam email messages that claim to contain a payment confirmation for the recipient. The text in the email message attempts to convince the recipient to open the link to view the online payment. However, the link contains a .zip file containing a malicious .exe file that, when executed, attempts to infect the system with malicious code.

Email messages that are related to this threat (RuleID9539) may contain the following files:

The facture.exe file in the facture.zip archive has a file size of 1,632,551 bytes. The MD5 checksum, which is a unique identifier of the executable, is the following string: 0xB086A2A5C8D526E7BE90613F33D1AA8E
