Summary

• Cisco Security has detected significant activity related to spam email messages that claim to contain a voice message for the recipient. The text in the email message attempts to convince the recipient to open the attachment and listen to the message. However, the .zip attachment contains a malicious .exe file that, when executed, attempts to infect the system with malicious code.

The VoiceMailID319803173.exe file in the VoiceATT-68405EE3EB.zip attachment has a file size of 170,709 bytes. The MD5 checksum, which is a unique identifier of the executable, is the following string: 0x3D07D316A63C7A74351C3779712179AA
