Atlassian recommends that Bamboo Data Center and Server customers upgrade to latest version, if you are unable to do so, upgrade your instance to one of the specified supported fixed versions:

  • Bamboo Data Center and Server 9.2: Upgrade to a release greater than or equal to 9.2.5
  • Bamboo Data Center and Server 9.3: Upgrade to a release greater than or equal to 9.3.3
  • Bamboo Data Center and Server 9.4: Upgrade to a release greater than or equal to 9.4.0

The National Vulnerability Database provides the following description for this vulnerability: Those using Woodstox to parse XML data may be vulnerable to Denial of Service attacks (DOS) if DTD support is enabled. If the parser is running on user supplied input, an attacker may supply content that causes the parser to crash by stackoverflow. This effect may support a denial of service attack.
